If John Tortorella was pleased with his Vegas Golden Knights' second-round victory against the Anaheim Ducks, he sure wasn't telling reporters about it.
The head coach declined to speak with the media after the Golden Knights punched their ticket to the Western Conference Final on Thursday night, per reporters in Anaheim.
The team did not open the dressing room after the win, with just three players speaking with media — Brett Howden and Mitch Marner at the podium, and one who was brought to a side room.
Additionally, Tortorella did not line up for handshakes after the clinching victory.
Neither the Golden Knights nor Tortorella provided an official explanation as to why they ducked reporters.
However, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Golden Knights were frustrated by Brayden McNabb's suspension, leading to Thursday's stunt.
As they approached the podium, a grinning Howden and Marner said the team bus was going to leave in 10 minutes.
Jack Eichel, who did not register a point in the 5-1 win, spoke with TNT's Chris Mason on the ice shortly after the game ended.
